Ralph "Rusty" Humphries is an
American radio host,
conservative political commentator, and
songwriter. Humphries'
nationally-syndicated radio show,
The Rusty Humphries Show, airs on over 250 stations through
Talk Radio Network.
Early Life and Career
Career
Humphries has hosted radio shows in
New York,
Dallas,
San Diego,
Atlanta and
Fort Wayne,
Indiana. He has has also worked at radio stations in
Chicago,
Los Angeles,
Seattle,
Kansas City, and
Portland, Oregon.
Humphries has been named one of "America's 100 Most Important Radio Talk Show Hosts" for eight years in a row, and he was nominated as "Talk Personality Of The Year" by
Radio & Records. Humphries was inducted into the
Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame as its youngest inductee ever. He is ranked number 41 in the
Talkers Magazine "Heavy 100."
After his two "Rusty Humphries' Salute to the American Veterans" concerts drew a sold out crowd on
Veterans Day in 1999 and 2000, Humphries was named "Reno's #1 local entertainer."
Humphries has produced five musical albums, including
Bomb Iraq: Rusty Humphries Takes On the Terrorists, and
Greeting From America: Wish You Were Here, a
compilation album made for American troops serving in Iraq.
Personal life
Rusty and his wife Kathleen have two daughters Katelynn and Karaline. Rusty is a singer/songwriter. In addition to writing many morning radio show jingles, his song, Do The
Bart Man, made national charts and was the inspiration for The Simpson's Multi-platinum CD.
Rusty helped the State of Nevada raise 1.5 million dollars for the
National World War II Memorial in Washington DC.
Rusty's father had joined the military when he was only 14 years old and was killed in the
Vietnam War.
